JAMMU: The Ministers and MLAs of ruling NC dispensation are trying to radicalize the society and also to demotivate the industrialists in the region resulting in the fear in the mind of investors and industrials, said Adv. Sunil Sethi. Adv. Sunil Sethi, Chief Spokesperson, J&K BJP accompanied by Dr. Tahir Choudhary and Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia, spokespersons, J&K BJP was addressing a press conference held at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
He said that Kashmir has been progressing towards peace and prosperity after having passed through a challenging situation of radicalization. Theaters were closed, malls were not allowed to open and restricted society from being modernized only to increase the radicalization, hence pushing Kashmir backwards.
After a long struggle, Kashmir is headed towards a resilient permanent peace. The perpetrators of hatred, separatism, and radicalization on the provocation by Pakistan, are trying once again to radicalize Kashmir, and push back the society of Kashmir backwards through the misuse of various media. Unfortunately, many politicians are also toing the same line as set up by Pakistan.
BJP believes that the fate of Kashmir lies in tourism-based sturdy economic activity. Tourism and radicalization are opposite to each other. On one hand, you are inviting people from the rest of India and the other parts of the world to visit J&K as tourists but you also talk of radicalization, Sethi cautioned. If we have to progress, then we have to rebuild the thinking as a civilized and open society and not as a backward society.
Sunil Sethi also raised the issue of daily wagers, saying that the issue is live but pending since many years. The guarantee for their regularization has been on the manifesto of BJP and NC during the Assembly Polls. Now when the NC government mentioned the issue of daily wagers, they handed a lollipop by saying that a committee is to be framed which will submit its report till one year. Now the daily wagers are threatening an agitation, which will affect the whole society.
BJP asks the NC government to immediately engage with the daily wagers to prevent the damage and to pass an act according to the promise made in their election manifesto, said Adv. Sunil Sethi. He lamented that the MLA of the ruling party are asking for the return of allotted land by the industrialists, which is terrifying the industrialists. The maximum of such investments was made in the Jammu region, which is in an environment of fear now. The efforts for the lasting peace, increased tourism, gaining investments by BJP government at the center and the LG administration are being marred with the statements of the Ministers and MLAs of ruling government, he added.
BJP asks the NC government to fulfil their promises in a time bound manner. He also asked that they should not give any statements to radicalize the society in Kashmir region and also refrain from giving any such statements which potentially demotivate and terrify the investors and the industrialists in J&K particularly in the Jammu region.
