The locals of the area have applauded and thanked for the patient role of Police & SFs that ensured zero damage to the Mosque, besides maintaining its sanctity. IGP Kashmir appreciates the role of police and SFs for conducting both operations professionally without any collateral damage and also thanked the general public of the areas for maintaining peace.
Bodies of all the eight killed terrorists were retrieved from the encounter sites. The identification and affiliation of the killed terrorists is being ascertained. The dead bodies of the killed terrorists have been sent to Baramulla for conducting medico-legal formalities including collection of their DNA followed by their last rites. In case any family claims the killed terrorists to be their kith or kin, can come forward for the identification and participation in last rites at Baramulla.
Incriminating material including arms & ammunition were recovered from both the encounter sites. All these materials have been taken into case records for further investigation and to probe their complicity in other terror crimes. Cases under relevant sections of law stands already registered in respective Police Stations and further investigation has been initiated. People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosive materials if any.
