REASI: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan chaired a meeting with key stakeholders here today to discuss the formulation of the District Capex Plan 2024-25. The meeting also evaluated the progress on the estimation of works proposed so far.
The DDC reviewed feasibility of proposed works under different sectors, including minor irrigation, Roads & Buildings, Elementary and Secondary Education, Youth Services and Sports, Urban Development, Public Health Engineering, and Untied Grants.
He directed the officers to ensure the formulation and submission of the plan within two days. He emphasized the need for a multilayered prospective plan that will maximize public benefit. He further urged the members to focus on the completion of ongoing projects and to propose only those works which can be completed within the working season of the current financial year.
The DDC instructed the Deputy Chief Medical Officer to provide details of non-functional buildings within two days. The Executive Officers were asked to identify dark spots in Reasi and Katra that need illumination and allocate resources where they can yield the greatest public benefits.
The DDC directed BDOs to ensure that PRIs Grants are used for the benefit of the community rather than individual persons. He also instructed executive agencies to survey groundwater and improve water facilities in Reasi and Katra.
He emphasized the replacement of wooden poles with iron poles. Under the Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP), focus was laid on filling the gaps in Panchayats by improving schools, footbridges and other infrastructure.
