JAMMU: The Government Medical College Jammu, while contesting a news published in a section of the press claiming that the CT Scan machines at SMGS and Government Chest Disease Hospital in Jammu are not operational, has clarified that the claims are untrue. “As of today, the CT Scan machines at both hospitals are fully functional. The machines were down for a short while and were promptly repaired by expert technicians. During this period, alternate arrangements were made by the office of Principal GMC to ensure no disruption in services,” the GMC authorities said.

It was further clarified that the patients at the Government Chest Disease Hospital were provided services at the adjoining Bone & Joint Hospital, while patients at SMGS were provided transportation to the Bone & Joint Hospital for CT scans while their own machines were being repaired. It is also informed that the GMC administration has started the process of replacing the old machines with new advanced versions.
