UDHAMPUR: The Army Commanders’ Conference commenced on 25 Apr 2016, at Manekshaw Convention Centre Delhi Cantt. The bi-annual Conference was addressed by the Defence Minister, Shri Manohar Parrikar on 25 April 2016. In the opening remarks, while addressing the Army Commanders' conference, the COAS stressed on necessity to maintain very high degree of vigil & operational preparedness along disputed borders. He complimented concerned commanders & troops in successfully executing recent Counter Terrorist operations, while displaying due restraint.
The COAS stressed on the necessity of speeding up of Army's Modernisation & Capability Development Initiatives. He stressed on all commanders to continuously monitor & maintain internal health, values & ethics in all formations and units. The Army Commanders Conference is the highest level ‘Army Conference’ held to discuss current internal and external strategic issues, review of operational preparedness of the Indian Army and aspects pertaining to training, administration, military technology and force modernisation. The Conference will culminate on 30 April 2016.
