During the years 2000 to 2003, he served as an active leader of the student union and the NSS unit at Government Degree College, Doda.

Sajad Malik's commitment to education extended beyond his student years. In addition to his primary teaching duties, he took on various responsibilities within the education department. He served as a master trainer in "Classroom Culture and Lesson Planning," imparting invaluable knowledge to fellow teachers. His contributions expanded further as a resource person, where he played a pivotal role in conducting essential training sessions, such as the PARVAAZ training in consultation with the Pratham Education Foundation. 

Sajad's dedication to education reached new heights when he worked as the coordinator for the National Initiative For School Heads and Teachers (NISHTA) in the Education Ghat of Doda. This role allowed him to make a profound impact on the professional development of teachers and school administrators in the region.

He received the prestigious title of "Best Resource Person" and "Best Coordinator for NISHTA" by the Director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). Furthermore, in a remarkable testament to his exceptional work, Sajad was awarded the title of "Best Teacher of the Year 2022-23" by the District Administration of Doda on Teachers' Day. This recognition underscored his pivotal role in advancing the cause of education in Doda and ensuring the welfare and professional development of teachers.
