The condition in the Kashmir valley can very well be described as, at the peak of a graph of the life cycle of fire where normal extinguishers are not going to be of any help and the need is for some special, some critically thought extinguisher to help lower the flames. It has to be a well thought and a well planned strategy to save the valley. The administration needs to put their grey matter into work and stop repeating the mistake of trying whatever comes into mind. Trying everything whatever comes to mind would fuel to the fire even more.
There is a dire need for the lady in command to open her eyes and the windows of her brain to accept the reality of the situation and not act like a mentally retarded personality and oversee everything. Her recent statements have turned her image into that of either a blind personality or a ruthless ruler. She needs to understand and accept the sensitivity of the situation and stop portraying the situation through her prism of seeing it all as a fuss created by a handful of people with their vested interests. Ms. Chief Minister needs to have a sense of understanding and a capability to accept the fact that it's the other way around. The present conditions have given a rebirth to the movement and the fact is that its strength is at the strongest level like never before in past two and a half decades.
The sensitivity is even more critical than the 90's and the lady in command keeps repeating "all is well, it's just some misguided youth", which is very disappointing. She needs to accept the fact that her way to the chair that she enjoys today got made by the role she played in 2010 that looked real to the masses and made them fall into the trap. A very well planned and a better played strategy one must say because nobody would even imagine that it was all a drama with the lead played by Ms. Mufti. She's trolling on social media with all her video clips of 2010, that now looks like a strategy to be fool people.
She needs to understand that if it was just a handful of people around 5 percent to be the trouble makers and responsible to put the valley under siege, to standstill the place for more than a month and a half, to make way for around ten thousand to the hospitals with injuries, more than hundred to blind, around seventy killings and the whole valley to get to protests, then for sure that 5 percent is more intelligent and more capable than the so called government, so called representatives of the hundred percent. Should she not have a conscience to step down and accept that she doesn't deserve to be enjoying the highest chair in the state politics?
The fact is that all her words have proven fake with time and the image she has very well been able to make of her's is, just being concerned and thirsty of her chief ministerial position. She's off course proving not only her words fake and meaningless but of her dead father's too. People have started questioning his vision, his words and his public image also which is more damaging to the party as Ms. Mufti still has time to may be mend for her acts or play another well planned game to be fool people but the late Mufti doesn't have any chance to get out of the grave to work on his reputation and image that's very well being destroyed by his loving daughter.
The think tanks in the state and the centre government either seem to be not understanding the criticality of the situation at present. Centre sees it through the prism of development and state sees it as vested interests of a handful of people and none seems to be even near to the understanding of the real facts. The movement this time is backed by one and all in the valley except for a few handful of people who enjoy the positions in the polity and that needs to be accepted.
The irony is that the ego is the prime driver of the governments approach, the statement from the home minister after reaching Kashmir was both illogical and unacceptable. You need to understand that the government needs to reach to people, approach them, mere saying that I am staying at an X place and I welcome those who wish to approach me, is not going to work. You don't need to make them feel like beggars and make them feel that you are doing a favour to them by travelling from New Delhi. If the purpose was to meet the local opposition parties only, what was the need to travel to Srinagar? They anyways were in the capital and met the Prime Minister a day before.
Running away from the facts is in nobody's favour and facts do not change whether one likes them or not. The fact remains that it's a politically disputed territory which is burning at the moment. The people especially youth is not ready to give up, the movement is more or less gone leaderless where Hurriyat leaders are also saving their faces by flowing with the tides that are being controlled by the youth on streets, death toll is increasing every day, hundreds get injured everyday and traders are ready to face the losses. They want a solution to this long delayed problem, they don't want to be engaged in settling of this unsettled issue all through their life.
Streets are literally being painted with blood every day and brutality word may need to be changed with a harsher verb. More forces are being deployed with every passing day, BSF re-enters the streets after 12 years, schools and colleges are being turned into army camps and the valley remains under siege. With every passing day terror wraps the valley with an extra fold, and the answer of the question that needs to be realised is, who is playing the terrorist?
