JAMMU: Aman was born on 12th of February in 1980 in the lush green village of Gagla Kashtigarh of District Doda. Before joining police, he served in Social Welfare and Higher Education departments. However, his passion to serve the nation donning the khaki led him to joining the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service in 2011.
In the year 2017, he was posted as DySP (PC) Hatipora Kulgam. During his tenure at Kulgam, for both his colleagues and the local citizens, Aman became the most sought- after officer owing to his dedication, humility, and highest standards of professional ethics. In various challenging situations he displayed exemplary valor, presence of mind and courage, thus preventing loss of human lives while risking his own. He was decorated with numerous gallantry and commendation medals.
Aman sacrificed his life on February the 24th 2019 while taking on three terrorists during an operation in Turigam Kulgam. He was fatally wounded by terrorists’ bullets while rescuing injured Army jawans and breathed his last in the line of duty facing enemy bullets, but not before killing his assailant.
Aman is survived by his aged parents, wife and his six-year-old son Arya. He was a devoted son, a faithful husband, an affable father, an adorable friend, a dependable colleague and epitome of what it means to be a cop.
You were a charming, lively and cheerful even in telling times. You lived by an ideal. You defined the word ‘professionalism’. You are loved and missed by every rank and file. Even though you have left us physically, but you are alive in our hearts and minds.
JKP and Team Kulgam is proud of your sacrifice and salutes you!
