SRINAGAR: The brave heart Arshad Khan joined the Police department in the year 2001 as Sub-Inspector Executive Police. Born to Smt. and Shri Mustaq Ahmad Khan of Karan Nagar Srinagar in the year 1979, he did his schooling from Govt. Hr. Sec. School Rajbagh and graduated from Amar Singh College Srinagar. The brave officer was awarded with Police Medal for Gallantry in the year 2008 for his selfless services in the department.
Shri Arshad was posted as SHO Saddar Police Station Anantnag, when on 12th June 2019, a pheran-clad fidayeen attacked CRPF men on law and order duty at KP Road Anantnag. Soon after the attack, Shri Khan reached the site. Showing exemplary courage, the officer stepped out of his armoured vehicle to assist his colleagues. In the process the officer was critically injured. Five CRPF men were martyred in the dastardly terror attack. The terrorist was eliminated on spot.
The injured officer was rushed to 92 Base Army Hospital & was later shifted to SKIMS for further treatment. Subsequently, the officer was flown to AIIMS were he left for heavenly abode on 16th June. The martyr has left behind aged parents, wife and two sons aged 2 and 5 years. Incidentally, Shri Arshad Khan after completing his Police training from SKPA Udhampur had done his probation from the same Saddar Police Station Anantnag where he was posted at the time of his martyrdom.
