Clean and Green mission launched in Doda

DODA: To create awareness among general masses for Clean and Green India, Clean & Green Mission with the theme “My Village My World” was launched at all panchayat headquarters across the district. The main programme in this connection was held at Sansad Adarash village Hamble which was presided over by MLA Doda, Shakti Raj Parihar besides Deputy Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar, SSP Doda Z N Manhas, district officers, sarpanches, panches among others attended the launching of the mission.

The MLA informed that the objective of organizing clean and green mission is to make the rural area pollution free. He said that green environment shall be taken on mission mode to bring behavioral improvement through sensitization of people. He further added that clean and green mission (CGM) committees will educate the communities to adopt the best methods and practices to make their village/ Panchayat Clean and Green.

The DC, while highlighting the importance of cleanliness, laid stress on construction of Individual Household Latrines (IHHL) under Swachh Bharat Mission to end open defecation. He asked the participants to avoid use of polythene bags. He also stressed upon plantation of trees and proper disposal of solid waste. Activities like pledges, clean and green walks, symposiums, rallies, plantation drives, sensitization through banners, and voluntary participation marked the launch of clean and green mission in these panchayat headquarters.
