REASI: To combat illegal mining, the Geology and Mining Department Reasi, under the proactive guidance of District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan has executed a series of raids targeting unauthorized excavation and mineral dumping in the district.
During last three months the department took stringent action by challaning 31 and seizing 26 vehicles involved in illegal mining activities including seventeen tractors, eight dumper and six JCBs.
Further the demarcation of three mining sites has led to realisation of Rs. 36,94,910 fine. The demarcation exercise is still on and the District Collector has warned the lesses to ensure adherence to the norms.
DDC Mahajan has urged the public to report any suspicious mining activities on dedicated District control Room Number 01991-245639, 94198-39557 and assured that stringent action will be taken against those found violating mining regulations.
