JAMMU: In a dedicated stride towards fostering environmental sustainability and community involvement, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has successfully orchestrated a Plantation Drive within its campus premises.
This eco-conscious endeavor unfolded along the north spur of the campus, offering a breathtaking panorama overlooking the neighboring IIM Jammu campus and the majestic Trikuta Parvat, the sacred abode of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. The verdant expanse was graced with the introduction of approximately 90 saplings of the silver oak variety.
The primary objective of this thoughtfully executed Plantation Drive was to augment the green canopy enveloping the IIT Jammu campus, thereby making a substantial contribution to the overall environmental well-being. The concerted efforts of the institute's staff, characterized by their active and enthusiastic participation, have undeniably propelled this initiative into a resounding success.
