SRINAGAR: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized two vehicles and arrested two persons in Baramulla. A police party led by SHO PS Kreeri under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri Shri Khalid Ashraf-JKPS seized 1 Tractor and arrested the driver for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Shrakwara Kreeri. He has been identified as Muneer Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohiuddin resident of Shrakwara.
Similarly, Police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Shri Imtiaz Ahmed-JKPS assisted by IC PP Babareshi seized Tipper and arrested the driver identified as Waseem Ahmad Malik son of Khazir Mohd Malik resident of Doolipora, involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Nambalnar Babareshi.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigation has been initiated. Persons found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
