SRINAGAR: Cracking a whip on illegal mining & transportation of minerals, police have seized 04 vehicles and arrested 04 drivers in Baramulla. Police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO Police Station Baramulla & Incharge PP Delina seized 04 vehicles (2 Tippers, 2 Tractors) & arrested 4 drivers involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Khanpora & Khaitangan areas of Baramulla.
They have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Dar son of Ab Rashid resident of JalSheeri, Nasir Hussain Mir son of Mohd Shafi resident of Kralgund Handwara, Hilal Ahmad Zargar son of Khazir Mohd resident of Chandoosa & Mohd Ramzan Teli son of Ab Rahim resident of Watergam.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law were registered in Police Station Baramulla and further investigations have been taken up. People are requested not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah/River, as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
