JAMMU: The NSS Campus Unit 3 of the University of Jammu observed World Environment Day 2024 under the esteemed patronage of Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Umesh Rai and the Chairperson of NSS Campus Units. The event commenced with the installation of bird water feeder pots in The Law School and Department of Law, University of Jammu, in response to the prevailing intense heat wave conditions. Subsequently, a poster-making and slogan-writing competition was organized to heighten awareness among students on the theme "Our Land... Our Future... We are #GenerationRestoration."
Prof Manju Jamwal, Head of the Department of Law stressed that the conservation of natural resources is not the sole responsibility of a single individual but rather a collective duty of every citizen. Prof. Savita Nayar, Convener of NSS Campus Units, and Dr. Hema Gandotra, Coordinator of NSS Campus Units, University of Jammu, expressed their appreciation for the efforts of NSS volunteers and encouraged them to continue undertaking such meaningful activities in the future.
The entire event was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Monika Bhardwaj, Program Officer of NSS Campus Unit 3, University of Jammu. She passionately motivated the volunteers to amplify awareness regarding a healthy and clean environment and emphasized the critical importance of natural resources . Dr Palvi Mathavan and Dr Nitan sharma , faculty of the Law School were also present in the event.
