BUDGAM: The department of Social Forestry celebrated Arbor Day at Sheikh Aalam Degree College at Budgam today. The District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad attended as chief guest. On the occasion the activities of Social Forestry were highlighted. On the day 400 plants have been planted in the college in addition to target of 8000 plants being achieved in various Government Institutions in the district. The District Development Commissioner on the occasion stress need for protection of forests and increase in green vegetative cover by the planting more and more plants. The function was attended by Principal Degree College Budgam and other concerned officers.
