SRINAGAR: Today five persons got minor injuries due to an explosion at the yesterday's encounter site in Heff Shirmal, Shopian. The injured have been identified as Umer Ahmad Teli, Mehvish, Mohammad Amin Dar, Shakir Ahmad Dar and Parvaiz Ahmad Dar. They were injured while clearing the debris. It is pertinent to mention that an encounter took place at the site which concluded at around 10pm last evening.
After conclusion of operation people were advised not to go to the encounter site as it may have some unexploded material. They were further advised to go only after Bomb Disposal squad clears the site. Announcements to this effect were made yesterday as well as today morning in local mosque. However, people poured in and tried to clear debris and did not heed to the announcements. The injured have been hospitalized.
