BANDIPORA: Literary Forum Bandipora (LFB) has expressed grief over the demise of noted Kashmiri poet and linguistic activist Abdul Ghani Miskeen on Tuesday morning. Soon after the news of his death came, LFB members called a condolence meeting presided over by Forum Vice president Mubashir Nazki in Bandipora. Members expressed grief over the demise and remembered the contribution of Miskeen in Kashmiri literature. He was a well-known poet and had penned down numerous Ghazals. He has also authored a book "Chun Halam" (Empty Lap) was recently released by Retired Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani at Sopore.

The deceased Poet was also active in sports activities and was a strong fan of football. He used to be perform the duties of referee in football matches in his home town Sopore. As an Adbee Markaz Kamraaz (AMK) member, Miskeen played an important role in uplifting the standard of language. His numerous Ghazals have been sung by various singers which are played on Radio Kashmir Srinagar. "Cze Nazran Ander Kyah Aser Baal-e-Yaroo, Mei Gov Prear Preari Shehr Baal-eYaroo" is one of his best Ghazals which was popular among the Kashmiri people. During the condolence meeting, members of LFB prayed for the departed soul. The condolence meeting was attended by Forum President Mubashir Nazki, Vice Presidents Gul Tanveer and Showkat Sufi, Ghulam Nabi Zahid, Mir Dachighami, Mir Tariq and General Secretary Mansoor Muntazir.
