JAMMU: On the sudden demise of popular writer Padma Shri Smt. Malti Joshi a condolence meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Hon’ble President of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh Prant and Vice-Chancellor Central University of jammu, Prof. Sanjeev Jain.
It is noted that popular writer Mrs. Malti Joshi passed away today in Delhi at the age of 90. Mrs. Malti Joshi leaves behind a large family including two sons, Mr. Hrishikesh ji and Mr. Sachchidanand Joshi ji (All India President, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal). Mrs. Joshi was suffering from cancer for some time. Mrs. Malti Joshi, the author of more than fifty story collections in Hindi and Marathi languages, is considered to be the most popular Hindi story writer after Shivani.
Many universities of the country have done Research work on his literature. While delivering the condolence message, Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain said that in this hour of unbearable grief, we all express our deep condolences to his family and prayed to God to give strength to the entire family to bear this immense loss and grant the departed soul a place at your feet. On this occasion, the executive members of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh province expressed deep condolences and paid tribute to the departed soul by observing silence for two minutes.
