SAMBA: A meeting of the District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) for the quarter ending March 2024 was held today here in the DC Office Samba. The meeting aimed to review the performance of banks in terms of deposits, advances, CD ratio, and the achievement under the Annual Credit Plan for the fiscal year 2023-24. Additionally, progress under various government-sponsored and social security schemes was assessed.

The meeting was chaired by District Development Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and convened by Lead District Manager (LDM) Sanjay Dhar . The attendees included representatives from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), J&K Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank (JKGB), as well as various government departments such as Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries.

At the outset, LDM Sanjay Dhar informed that banks operating in the Samba District recorded deposits of Rs. 7513 Cr. and advances of Rs. 4456 Cr. as of 31.03.2024, registering a CD ratio of 59.31%. The banks achieved Rs. 3109 Cr. under the Annual Credit Plan 2023-24 against a target of Rs. 2348 Cr., marking a 132% achievement. In the priority sector, banks reached Rs. 1612 Cr. against an annual target of Rs. 1996 Cr., achieving 81%, while in the non-priority sector, the achievement was Rs. 1497 Cr. against a target of Rs. 352 Cr., marking a 425% accomplishment.

DDC conducted a comprehensive review of various government-sponsored schemes with a special focus on PMEGP, JKREGP, KCC, HADP, PMAY, NRLM, and NULM. He urged banks to achieve 100% digitalization of bank accounts and encouraged all sponsoring agencies and banks to raise awareness about self-employment schemes, motivating residents to avail of these benefits for generating self-employment opportunities. He directed banks to expedite the processing of pending cases sponsored by different government departments and agencies, especially in agriculture, allied activities, MSME, housing, and education sectors, to maintain a healthy CD ratio. Furthermore, he emphasized covering all eligible individuals under social security schemes such as PMSBY, PMJJBY, and APY. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the Lead District Manager, Sanjay Dhar.
