KATHUA: District Programme Officer (DPO) Kathua Shokar Mehmood today conducted an extensive tour of several Anganwadi Centers in Hiranagar. The DPO visited multiple Anganwadi centers including Balvidyalya in ward no.1 Gurha Morh, Dabbi, Chann Dityal B, and MC ward no.5. The primary objective of the visit was to evaluate the infrastructure, assess the functionality of Poshan Vatika, and ensure the availability of supplementary nutrition in these centers. Besides, close attention was paid to the preparation and quality of hot cooked meals served to the beneficiaries.
He emphasized the paramount importance of enhancing the enrollment of beneficiaries in Anganwadi centers and providing high-quality early childhood care and education. Special emphasis was placed on the need for well-ventilated rooms in Anganwadis and the regular inclusion of vegetables in the hot cooked meals to ensure a balanced diet for the children.
The DPO also took a detailed review of the status of Poshan Tracker parameters and provided invaluable insights for its enhancement, aiming for more efficient monitoring and evaluation of nutritional programs.
