UDHAMPUR: In a ceremony, held at Udhampur on 21 Feb 15, marking the completion of six weeks training on Food and Beverage services at Food Craft Institute (FCI), Jammu for unemployed youth of Tehsil – Ramnagar, Dist – Udhampur (J&K), local Army unit distributed uniforms, stipend, course certificates and appointment letters for employment in reputed hotels to 29 local unemployed youth of Tehsil – Ramnagar. The training at FCI, Jammu was conducted from 12 Jan 15 to 20 Feb 15.
Army had taken up a novel initiative ‘Hunar Se Rozgar Tak’ under ‘Op Sadbhavna’ wherein unemployed school dropouts of Tehsil – Ramnagar, Dist – Udhampur (J&K) were provided six weeks training on Food and Beverage services at Food Craft Institute (FCI), Jammu. The students hailed from economically impoverished families of remote areas. The complete training including boarding, lodging, food, uniforms, books and classes were organised free of cost for the students, the students were also provided a stipend of Rs 1500/- each after successful completion of the training.
The aim of ‘Hunar Se Rozgar Tak’ initiative undertaken by Army under ‘Op Sadbhavna’ was to effectively harness the potential of the youths of remote villages of Dist – Udhampur (J&K) and channelise them into national mainstream. All 29 candidates who completed the training were provided employment at reputed hotels like Gomang Boutique, Leh and Hotel 17 Miles, Jammu.
