The counselors gave detailed feedback of the reach out programme and informed the Director that till date more than one lac students have been contacted and given counseling regarding their anxieties, mental stress and other academic concerns.
The counselors informed that students are trying to get the maximum out of the digital and other platforms provided by the department for continuation of studies while at home. The students and parents have appreciated the recent initiative of community schooling and on-call counseling of students by a panel of more than 70 teacher counselors from all districts taken by the Education department
It is in place to mention that DSEK has roped in professional counselors and mental health experts from various departments and organizations like IMHANS and GMC Srinagar for counseling of students especially during the current Covid-19 pandemic situation.
