JAMMU: Buyers for more than 30 countries participated in 3rd edition of India Fashion Tex 2023-Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM), which was successfully concluded. The Tex was jointly organized by the Wool & Woolens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC) and Powerloom Development & Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL).
The three day fashion exhibition was attended by more than 1000 buyers across 30 countries including Australia, US, EU, Scandinavia, UK, Australia, Japan, Middle East, Vietnam and Sri Lanka. There were more than 100 exhibitors buying houses from India and international brands. There was an increase in the number of footfalls compared to the last two editions, as the fashion exhibition witnessed more than 3500 visitors across three days.
Special emphasis has been given to Jammu and Kashmir exhibitors for promoting Pashmina shawls and scarves. The event showcased an extensive range of woollen merchandise including Yarn & fabrics apparel, clothing knitwear, hosiery goods, pashmina shawls or stoles, Scarves, mufflers, blankets, carpets, blazers and home textiles crafted by Indian weavers and artisans.
The exhibitors from J&K showcased unique and world-famous Handloom products including GI tagged products like Kani Shawls, Stoles, Pashmina shawls, chain stitch, silk carpets etc of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meet provided opportunities to network and create business leads with potential clients, understand actual requirements, quality, new fashion trends in international markets so that they can compete and excel at global level.
The event witnessed Business meetings with overseas buyers/Sourcing agents/buying houses , Launch of new products, and exclusive Fashion Show. J&K’s products, especially Pashmina and Kani shawls were major attractions in the fashion show.
During the event a drive for onboarding on Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) for the participating exhibitors from J&K was also organised by JKTPO and ONDC.
Speaking on the occasion, Romesh Khajuria, Chairman, Wool and Woolens Export Promotion Council said that we have witnessed an overwhelming response from more than 1000 international buyers, and have also received enquiries for the export orders this itself is a positive step for the Indian textile industry.
“Further we will learn from this and hold a successful next edition with new ideas and continued support from all our partners,” he said. The main attraction for India Fashion Tex-23 was the dazzling fashion show which showcased various woolen Indian and western apparels and merchandise including – Pashmina shawls, stoles, scarves, mufflers, kurtis, blazers and caps crafted by Indian weavers and artisans.
These apparels were displayed by beautiful Indian and international models which were presented by Indian exhibitors including: Jubina, Surbhi Shawls, Sood Sons, Exude, Mahalaxmi and Aangan Doree and more.
