KATRA: As part of ongoing Navratra Festival celebration, the Govt Higher Secondary School Katra organized a Fancy dress competition based on the theme “Kanjak” here today. Tehsildar, Dr Kavita Pandoh, chief guest, greeted the people and extended best wishes to the students for a bright future. Students drawn from 31 government and private schools took part in the competition.
Principals, Headmasters of Various schools, staff members, students and people in large number witnessed the event. In view of ongoing Navratri festival, a team of Legal Metrology department Rajouri conducted inspection of various business establishments at Rajouri, Sunderbani and adjoining areas. The team realised Rs11,000 from the defaulters as fine.
The department directed the traders to desist from unfair trade practices and use only verified weighing and measuring instruments in commercial transactions and ensure that all the packaged commodities sold to the consumers bear MRP, PKD, net contents and complete address of the manufacturer with consumer care number. The team also appealed the general public to assert for their rights as vigilant consumers.
