JAMMU: As part of Navratra festival-2015, a cultural programme was organized by Cultural Wing of Department of Information and Public Relations here. Former Minister and President Ram Lila Club, Basholi, Prem Sagar Aziz was Chief Guest on the occasion. Hundreds of devotees besides members of various social, religious and trade organizations of the town were present on the occasion. The programme started with Ganesh and Saraswati vandana by artists of the department.
Jeevan Sharma, senior artist of the department presented melodious bhajans in “Raag Bhairav”, “Bhola Bhandari”, “Chandi Mata, “Maa Vaishno Devi ji”, “Mati Kahe Kumhar se” “Duniya Chalay Na Shri Ram Kay Bina” “Jai Raghunandan Jai Sai Ram” based on “Raag Yaman” and “Meli Chader Oadh Kay” based on “Raag Kalawati” which enthralled the devotees. Surjit Singh Sumbaria and Gagandeep Singh also mesmerized the audience with bhajans of Maa Vaishno Devi Jee and Maa Kali jee besides Shabad Kirtan. Vijay Anand, Kamal Kumar, Bunty Kumar and Amit Anand supported on tabla, dholak, synthesiser, flute and side rhythm.
