JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages  organized script enactment of 2 Radio Plays titled-Rondu Ghori Chadeya(in Dogri) written by Rajneesh Gupta and Poos Ki Raat, an adaptation of Munshi Premchand’s famous short story in Hindi by Prof. Rita Jitendra today at K.L Saigal Hall.

Prof. Rita Jitendra, renowned artist, writer, social activist and former Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL were also present in the presidium. Among others were present Sh. N.D Jamwal, Surinder Goel, Mrs. Usha, Santosh Sangra, Madan Rangeela, Arvind Anand, Mrs. Madhvi, Mrs. Raj Sharma, Mrs. Nirmala Chattoo, Prof. Sarla Kohli, Mrs. Suman Pal, Mrs. Usha Mahe.

Dr. Jitendra Singh,  Minister of State with Independent Charge Ministry of Development of North Eastern region, Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Personal Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Govt of India while speaking on the occasion, congratulated Prof. Rita Jitendra, the main spirit behind today’s performances of 2 short-plays and said that it is really challenging to organize such type of performances as in the present changing time, the general interest of the masses is changed towards the world of materials.

While recalling the old day association with Prof. Rita Jitendra and Mr. Jitender Sharma, renowned Radio artist, play wright, Producer of Radio productions, he said that the field of Drama, particularly Radio Dramas played an important role in overall personality development resulting into achievements of present status as Union Minister. He further said that this is very important and is the need of the time to work for the betterment of Theatre moment in general and Radio Plays in particular. He aslo complimented Rajneesh Gupta and Prof. Rita Jitendra for writing radio one act plays and artists who performed in an impressive manner.

Earlier, while welcoming, Prof. Rita Jitendra thanked Dr. JitendraSingh for sparing his valuable moments and witnessing these performances and said that it was a great encouragement for the artist community and Theatre moment of the Jammu region. Some representatives of Theatre groups also presented a memorandum of the demands regarding Theatre Movement in Jammu.
