KISHTWAR: On the directions of District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh Tara, District level Centre for Women, Mahila Shakti Kendra Kishtwar today started an initiative of providing door to door awareness regarding Women Helpline 181 for women in distress. The purpose of this campaign was to make people aware, regarding the various services provided by the Helpline 181 especially during this Covid-19 pandemic.

While talking about the Women Helpline Service, Women Welfare Officer, Roohie Shamma said that it is an initiative of the Government to provide 24 hour-immediate response to women affected by any kind of violence. She also provided information about support services, government schemes and programs available to the women affected by violence. Medical aid, legal aid and Temporary shelter is also provided to the deserving persons.

District coordinators Hina Jan and Shanu Rana also aware the women about other women welfare schemes like BBBP, Ladli Beti, Sukanya Smaridhi  Yojna, PMMY , JSY. They stressed the people to avail the benefits of these schemes. During this awareness campaign all the SOPs and the protocol of lockdown like maintenance of social distancing and compulsory usage of mask were followed.
