JAMMU: Dogri Sanstha organised a scintillating musical programme under the title ‘ INDER-DHANAKH’ at K.L.Saigal Hall of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages here today featuring  young and budding artists of Jammu who enthralled the audience with their singing talent anticipating a bright future of Dogri music in the region. 

The programme was conceived and composed by the versatile singer and music director Dharmesh Nargotra who has carved a niche for himself in Ghazal singing in and outside the state.  Prof. Lalit Mangotra, convener Advisory Board for Dogri in Sahitya Akademi, presided over the programme while noted singer-music director Sh. Sham Sajan was the Chief guest.

The programme started with the performance of Deeksha Nargotra who presented a Ghazal ‘Jhootha da keh bapaar migi kish pataa neyee , Sachchae di keh nuhaar migi kish pataa neyee’ penned by Ramesh Rahi . The perceptible sweetness of her voice was appreciated by the audience. 

Composed on the tender and melodious notes, duo Azad Fangotra and Shiv Sharma presented a love song of Pyaasa Anjum ‘tuyen meri preet mera pyar aen,tuyen meri zindagi di bahar ayen’ Their harmonious voice reverberated in the hall like soothing waves of glee. Nisha Manhas ,another budding artist fascinated the audience with her melodic  voice and perfect rendering of a song in her soulful voice ‘roungaliyan bahaaran jinde neyee jayaan ho, sailiyan n dharan jinde neyee jayan ho’ written by Usha kiran ‘Kiran’. 

The programme attained new height when Dharmesh Nargotra mesmerized the audience with his performance in the end of the musical evening. Unleashing the magic of Ghazal singing, he first presented a famous ghazal of Padamdev Singh Nirdosh’s, ‘bada gae jhoungra hunda chanaar sochen da , bada gae aukkha aye seena langar sochen da’ followed by a masterpiece of Dogri Ghazals penned by  late Shiv Ram ‘Deep” ‘iss manae ik dard boohta laayee leyaa, jhoungri chhamaa da virsa payee leyaa’. The compositions and heartrending singing spellbound the audience who applauded the multitalented singer on every couplet. The singers were accompanied on guitar by Richard Teji, Joginder Kumar on tabla,  Chandan on Synth and Mayank Raina on flute.

Earlier Chhatrapal, President Dogri Sanstha welcomed the audience while Prof. Lalit Mangotra highlighted the contribution of Dogri Sanstha to the field of literature and music. He applauded the missionary zeal of Dharmesh Nargotra and other music directors of Jammu in training the youngsters in the field of music. Mementoes were presented to the young artists by the office bearers of Sanstha and seniors in the field including Brij Mohan and Sham Sajan.

Dr. Nirmal Vinod, General Secretary of Dogri Sanstha conducted the programme while Gianeshwar, the Vice President, presented the vote of thanks. Those presented on this occasion included artists, writers, poets, , intellectuals, prominent citizens and representatives of various literary and cultural organizations.
