During the proceedings of the programme various vital and important deliberations were made in technical sections on supply chain, food processing, integrated nutrition practices, crop protection, use of high ended technology as a tool to enhance the yield manifold and to take the quality to national and international standards.

Zahoor Ahmad Bhat in his session deliberated upon the profitable high-end yield-oriented farming practices and the conservation of traditional varieties of Apple being cultivated in Kashmir for decades. Present day farming is technological driven, therefore use of modern-day techniques in our farm field has become imperative and indispensable, he said.

The Department of Horticulture has introduced game changing schemes and policies to take the fruit industry to newer heights, added Bhat. He said the farming community must come forward to avail benefits being available with the department under various programmes. The session was also addressed by the Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K and other technical experts and representatives of the corporate industry.
