JAMMU: Post August 5, Pakistan leadership has resorted to the two extremes of sabre-rattling and offer of conditional talks with a view to brow beat India, least realising that such posturing is only exposing the helplessness in which Pakistan finds itself, stated Brig Anil Gupta, State Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party in a press statement issued today. While Pakistan Prime Minister has threatened a nuclear war signalling with the night-launch test firing of nuclear capable Ghaznavi missile, its military leadership has been posturing its forces threatening a conventional war and now its foreign minister has come out with a bizarre statement of talks if the detained Kashmiri leadership is freed and allowed to interact with their mentors in Pakistan, stated Brig Gupta.
India has already busted Pakistan’s nuclear bluff by launching the surgical strikes and Balakot Air attack against terror safe havens in Pakistan. As far as conventional war between the two is concerned, India has made its intentions very clear by giving befitting reply to any Pak misadventure along the line of control (LOC), asserted Brig Gupta. As far as the offer of Pak Foreign Minister is concerned, it has no relevance because the Government of India has made it abundantly clear that Pakistan has no locus-standi with respect to Kashmir. India will now talk to Pakistan only about POJK and the areas it has illegally ceded to China claimed Brig Gupta.
In a significant message, Governor Satya Pal Malik, minced no words while announcing that in “Naya Kashmir, Naya Bharat, there will be no dialogue with separatists and mainstream political parties. Hurriyat can no longer claim Pakistan as a stakeholder.” This should set at rest any hopes or anxiety Pak leadership may be harbouring on the issue, asserted Brig Gupta.
“Pakistan is rattled by the fact that the events in Kashmir so far have been much against their expectations. They had hoped that Valley will erupt into flames and the Kashmiris will be protesting on the roadsides, their paid stooges will add fuel to the fire and Pakistan would successfully internationalise the situation demanding third party intervention. Alas, nothing like this happened and neither Pakistan found any ally internationally isolating it totally. All subsequent actions of Pakistan are indicative of the fact that it has only one option left and that is to up the ante of cross-border terrorism,” stated Brig Gupta. However, its leadership has remained ambivalent on the subject, despite publically acknowledging the fact that terrorism is the major ploy being used by Pakistan against India.
India is conscious of this threat from Pakistan and the government has taken all possible measures to thwart the nefarious designs of our rogue neighbour, asserted Brig Gupta. However, terrorism cannot be fought by the government or Security Forces alone. It is the responsibility of each and every citizen to remain alert and act as eyes and ears of the security forces advised Brig Gupta.
Brig Gupta cautioned that true face of Pakistan with respect to terror would be unleashed after October once the decision of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), an inter-governmental body that works as watchdog in the matters of terror financing, is known. Till then Pakistan will while time claiming to be acting on the 26-point action plan agreed in June 2018. Not satisfied by the sincerity of Pak government, FATF Asia-Pacific Group has already announced its intent to put Pakistan on black list which Pakistan can ill-afford to ignore, said Brig Gupta.
