Welcoming the Prime Minister to Jammu for dedicating All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Dr Varinder Sharma said these institutions would have remained a distant dream for people of Jammu and Kashmir had the BJP led government at the Centre not cared to abrogate Article 370 and sanction such prestigious institutions for our Union Territory.
He said that this is for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that infrastructural projects worth Rs 13,375 crore including AIIMS and IIT in J&K and different parts of the country are being integrated by our Prime Minister from Jammu. The Prime Minister will be dedicating projects worth Rs 3253 crore solely for J&K including that of power, tourism, urban development, Public Works Department and industries which is a great step towards development.
He said that since J&K is on the oath of progress projects of MORTH belonging to road transport and highways worth Rs 7875 crore besides, new terminal at Jammu airport worth Rs 865 crore, new rail line from Banihal-Sangaldan and Rs 16,333 crore Common user petroleum terminal 677 crore will also be dedicated to the nation. Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Varinder Sharma added is progressing by leaps and bounds which is why first electric train from Baramulla station will also be flagged off, Train service from Sangaldan and Baramulla inaugurated and about 1500 employment orders distributed amongst beneficiaries for which they will get their orders on mobiles and through the PM as well.
To add more to J&K, PM also will be interacting with Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu and Kashmir beneficiaries of 285 blocks. This all is a beginning and when Narendra Modi will be elected for the next five years more is in offering to make J&K as developed as any other state or UT in the country.
