JAMMU: Former Minister, Spokesperson, Prabhari BJP Mahila Morcha Priya Sethi today welcomed the passing of the bill and congratulated Modi led NDA at Centre for the passing Triple Talaq Bill. She said that it is like getting freedom for Muslim women after 72 years of Independent India.
While congratulating the Modi led NDA who delivered promise, she said that it is a major political win for the Narendra Modi government, the Triple Talaq Bill today cleared Rajya Sabha hurdle where it was passed in the Rajya Sabha with 99 to 84 votes. It was the first draft legislation that the Narendra Modi 2.0 cabinet passed after being voted back to power in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, she added
The Triple Talaq Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha and passed by the house last week. The government did not face much trouble for pushing the Triple Talaq Bill in the Lok Sabha, where it enjoys comfortable majority but today it passed in Rajya Sabha is a historic day for Muslim Women of the country.
Priya Sethi further added that Modi govt is committed for Dignity and respect of women of Country and this is one more step for that. She while welcoming the passing of bill said that The bill has given Justice to Muslim women but unfortunately Congress and others didn’t do this in 72 years because of their appeasement politics.
