Mir Sarwar:
A well known Bollywood actor Mir Sarwar has received accolades for his various roles in several films till now for the films like Bajrangi Bhajaan, Kesari, Lihaaf, Laxmi, kedarnath, Kashmir Daili, Half Widow, Mission Majnu, Gadar 2, Shershah, Hamid, The Family Man, Special Ops, Avrodh, Bhram, Tanaav and many more. He shared the screen with legendary actor in a Hollywood film Vanguard with Jackie Chan as well.
He has worked with several leading production houses like Dharma, Nadidwala Gradsons, Madras Talkies, Friday filmworks , Asutosh Gowarikar Films and has worked with several leading directors.
After working with most of the leading directors of Bollywood he has helmed the directors hat with Bed No.17 for which he has received Best Debut Director in few leading film festivals of the country. He said,” I am really happy that I have received couple of Best Debut Dorector awards in 17th Ayodhya film festival and Golden Jury Film festival. Its really encouraging and motivates me to direct more independent films like that. Though I have directed theatre plays, several songs and a web series as well but a film is always special.”
He has written and directed a web series like Fundbaaz which is in its final stage. He is currently working on a film named Kuch Baqi hai and the 1st schedule has been shot in the picturesque locations of Ladakh and the next schedule will be shot in Kashmir which is among the best locations of the world.
He has directed a song Ya Ali & Ha Madano which was sung by Mudasir Ali and Ahmer Haider was an actor in both the songs alongwith Rj Rafiq and Hunyla Khan.
He was also conferred with the prestigious State/UT award in the performing arts category in the year 2023 by J&K Government. He Said,” Its an honour to receive this award as I have worked really hard for more than two decades and have passed many hurdles, sacrificed so many things in the process. Its was a long journey but I enjoyed every moment, every hardship which came on the way. However there is still lot to learn, achieve and contribute. I thank Allah and my family for being there always especially my father Late Mohammad Safdar Mir (Safdar Motors) for being the inspiration and pillar of strength. It was not possible without the support of my wife and my daughter who had to live on their own when I was struggling in Mumbai and even after we were together they have supported me throughout and are still doing that.”
Just to add here, he has a photography award as well which was given by J&K academy of art, culture and languages and has produced several independent films of J&K as well under the banner Safdar Arts which he named after his father.
Moreover he was in the preview committee of IFFI (International film festival of India) the biggest film festival. He said ,” I am blessed to be part of IFFI this year and I would say it was more a training process for me as an actor and a filmmaker. I have some great movies and some not that great but the lesson is what to make and what not to. I am glad some of the films which chose got the awards at the end.”
Rahat Kazmi:

Madhur Bhandarkar:
Renowned director Madhur Bhandarkar, who was a judge of the Naya Jammu Kashmir Short Film Competition will be present on the occasion and share his vision and ideas for the film conclave, providing valuable insights for attendees. The event will also showcase award-winning films from the Naya Jammu Kashmir Short Film Making Competition and with Felicitation of the winners.
