SRINAGAR: A comprehensive review meeting was on Thursday held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat to assess the progress and performance of various Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT 2.0) initiative.
On the occasion, a detailed Power Point presentation was given on the current status of Water Supply Projects across Srinagar City by the Executive Engineer Water Works Division.
It was noted that significant progress has been made in several projects, with many DPRs being approved and some have been submitted for the purpose of accord and approval
The meeting addressed various challenges including land acquisition issues. Solutions and action plans were formulated to overcome these hurdles and ensure timely completion of the projects.
Discussions were held on the effective utilization of funds allocated under the AMRUT scheme. The need for additional resources and funding for certain projects was also reviewed, with a commitment to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder the progress of essential water supply schemes.
The meeting concluded with a discussion on future plans and strategies for the expansion and sustainability of water supply schemes under the AMRUT mission. The focus will be on ensuring that all urban areas have access to safe and reliable water supply.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Engineer Water Works Division, Executive Engineer Water Supply Master Plan Srinagar, AEE Water Works Division and AEE Rural Water Supply Division involved in the AMRUT projects.
