- Baramulla Handball team defeats Bandipora in high octane final, lifts championship trophy
BARAMULLA: The ongoing Inter-District Provincial Level Handball Competition continues to set new benchmarks, showcasing the exceptional talent and sportsmanship of the youth from various schools and colleges across all 10 districts of the Kashmir division. The prestigious event held at the Indoor Stadium Baramulla is drawing enthusiastic participation and becoming a significant highlight in the region's sports calendar.
Today, boys in the under-17 category from different districts competed fiercely for the championship. Throughout the event, remarkable performances were showcased as each district fielded its best teams, all competing for the top honors. The intense matches not only thrilled the spectators but also highlighted the impressive handball skills of the region's youth.
The event was attended by District Information Officer Baramulla, Iftakhar Ahmad, accompanied by Chief Executive Officer Municipal Committee Baramulla, Naveed Ajaz Khan, and District Youth and Sports Officer, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, who handed over the championship trophy to the winning Baramulla Handball team, who defeated Bandipora in a very high octane final match.
Speaking during the event, DIO congratulated the winning team and emphasised the importance of such competitions in shaping the future of sports in the region.
