- DC stresses on intensive community awareness on preventive measures
REASI: The Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik today chaired an important review meeting with a team from the National Health Mission (NHM) and the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu. The NHM team led by Dr. Jitendra Mishra discussed in detail the progress of key national health schemes being implemented in the district.
Detailed deliberations were held on the progress of major health programmes including National Programme for Prevention & Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), the National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme and the overall functionality of ASHAs.
The NHM team highlighted several priority areas that require immediate action including the shortfall of ASHAs which must be addressed within one week, meeting Nikshay Mitra requirements within one month and the need to onboard all doctors as Nikshay Mitras to strengthen TB patient support. The team also stressed the importance of ensuring strong follow-up and adherence mechanisms under the NCD programme.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Superintendent, District Programme Manager and all concerned officials of the Health Department to take timely corrective steps and achieve all the targets outlined by the NHM team. She emphasized the need for robust field monitoring, accountability at every level and data-driven assessment to ensure efficient implementation of these health schemes.
Further, the DC instructed the department to conduct regular review meetings, intensify community awareness activities on TB, NCDs, Hepatitis & other key health issues and ensure timely data reporting on national portals.
Reiterating the administrationâs commitment to improving healthcare services in Reasi, the Deputy Commissioner assured that all necessary measures will be taken to meet NHM targets and ensure accessible, efficient and quality health services for the people of the district.
