SAMBA: In a powerful demonstration of people-centric governance, the District Administration Samba today held its weekly Block Divas at Jerda, a zero-line border village in Panchayat Chak Nazir, Block Ramgarh.

Chaired by District Development Commissioner, Ayushi Sudan and graced by DDC Chairman, Keshav Dutt Sharma, the outreach event brought together Panchayat representatives, local residents and departmental officials on a single platform to address grassroots concerns and accelerate development in sensitive border areas.

Emphasizing that governance becomes meaningful only when the administration stands shoulder-to-shoulder with citizens, DDC Sudan directed all concerned departments to ensure swift, coordinated resolution of issues ranging from drinking water and electricity to road connectivity, healthcare, agriculture including critical cross-border cultivation challenges and ration supply.

The District Development Commissioner underscored the need for inter-departmental synergy and close collaboration with local governance, while encouraging residents to actively leverage government schemes such as the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and Mission Yuva for socio-economic empowerment. Following the public interaction, Ms. Sudan visited polyhouses established under Agriculture and Floriculture schemes, interacting with beneficiaries and appreciating their adoption of modern farming techniques.

DDC Sudan stressed that strengthening agriculture remains central to sustainable development and rural prosperity. With departmental stalls disseminating information on welfare initiatives and officials committed to on-the-spot solutions, the Block Divas exemplified Samba’s unwavering commitment to cutting through bureaucratic bottlenecks and delivering governance where it matters most at the doorstep of its people, especially those residing in the nation’s sensitive border belt. The Block Divas was attended by ADDC Samba, Champa Devi Thakur, ACD Samba, SDM Vijaypur, public representatives and a large number of locals.
