PULWAMA: Police in Pulwama organised awareness programmes on the New Criminal Laws across the district, aimed at enhancing public understanding of the recently enacted legal framework and its implications for citizens.
These programmes were conducted at multiple locations and witnessed active participation from community members, including youth, elders and local representatives. Officers briefed participants on key provisions of the new laws, highlighting changes introduced in investigation procedures, citizen rights, public safety measures, and accountability mechanisms.
Participants were sensitised about their responsibilities under the new legal structure, the importance of timely reporting, and the role of community cooperation in ensuring effective implementation of the laws.
The initiative received strong public appreciation, with Police reaffirming its commitment to continued awareness drives aimed at empowering citizens and strengthening police–public partnership across the district.
