SAMBA: The District Task Force (DTF) on Immunization met today under the chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan to assess and finalize preparedness for the Pulse Polio Immunization (PPI) campaign scheduled on 21st December 2025. At the outset, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Vidhi Bhatial welcomed the participants.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the district administration’s commitment to cover every child below five years of age. She stressed the need for meticulous micro-planning, seamless inter-departmental coordination and strong community engagement to ensure the campaign’s success.

The DC reviewed booth readiness, deployment of transit and mobile teams, vaccine logistics and availability of trained manpower. She directed health officials to ensure real-time monitoring and timely supply of vaccines to all immunization sites. Special emphasis was laid on reaching out to high-risk pockets such as border belts, brick kilns, slum clusters, nomadic settlements and transit locations including bus stands and highway crossing points.

The District Immunization Officer presented a detailed operational plan, outlining the proposed number of booths, field staff deployment, outreach route maps and measures to maintain cold chain integrity. Representatives from ICDS, Education Department, Rural Development, Police, Transport and Information Department briefed the Deputy Commissioner about their respective responsibilities for the campaign.

The Deputy Commissioner urged the stakeholder departments to work in close coordination and directed field teams to intensify awareness activities in collaboration with PRIs, religious leaders and community groups to ensure maximum public participation. She asked the field teams to encourage the parents and caregivers to bring their children to the nearest polio booth on 21st December, reiterating that two drops of polio vaccine are vital for protecting children from lifelong disability.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jagdish Singh; Chief Medical Officer, District Immunization Officer, district-level officers of line departments and representatives from stakeholder organizations.
