REASI: District Legal Services Authority Reasi conducted a series of activities today to aware masses about the upcoming National Lok Adalat. A meeting of Committee for Hit and Run Victim Compensation Scheme-2022 and a review meeting of Panel Lawyers were also convened. Street plays and door to door awareness was conducted in different parts of the District to educate the general public about the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled on December 13, 2025 and encourage them to participate in the same.

The initiative was effectively supervised by Shazia Tabasum, Member Secretary JK Legal Services Authority and Khalil Ahmed Choudhary, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi (also Pr. District and Sessions Judge Reasi).

The meeting of the Committee for the Hit and Run Victim Compensation Scheme-2022 Committee was convened under the chairpersonship of Secretary DLSA, Pooja Gupta and attended by ACR (Claim Enquiry Officer), Nitin Verma and DySP. DAR (Member), Sarabjeet Singh.

The meeting was held to review the status of claims, streamline coordination among stakeholders, and ensure timely processing of compensation to victims or their legal hires under provisions of Section 161 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1998 and the 2022 Scheme.

Additionally, Khalil Ahmed Chowdhary Chairman DLSA chaired a meeting with Judicial Officers, directing them to identify and dispose of maximum cases in the ongoing Pre Lok Adalat Sessions. Later, the Chairman and Secretary chaired a review meeting with Panel Advocates to assess the status of cases assigned to them by the DLSA.
