JAMMU/SRINAGAR: The Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Monday launched new batches of the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) under Mission Yuva across 12 districts of the Union Territory. The initiative aims to equip the youth with essential entrepreneurial skills and support them in establishing sustainable business ventures.

The programme is being implemented with the support of JKEDI as one of the key training institutes, entrusted with delivering high-quality capacity-building sessions in a hybrid mode. The inaugural sessions were conducted today in the district centres of JKEDI at Kathua, Reasi, Jammu, Udhampur, Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, Bandipora, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam and Baramulla, under the overall supervision of Director JKEDI.

The EDPs launched today will provide the participants with comprehensive training in business planning, financial literacy, enterprise management, market linkages and access to government support schemes. Conducting these programs simultaneously in 12 districts ensures broader outreach, enabling the aspiring entrepreneurs from various areas to benefit from structured skill development.

The commencement of the training programs mark the beginning of a comprehensive, multi-phase learning programme. The initiative is expected to significantly improve the on-ground preparedness, entrepreneurial confidence, and youth engagement, thereby strengthening the overall impact of Mission YUVA.

The participants expressed enthusiasm about the initiative and acknowledged JKEDI’s role in driving entrepreneurship-led growth at the grassroots level. The institute will be rolling out additional batches in more districts in the coming weeks to meet the rising demand for entrepreneurship training under Mission YUVA.
