POONCH: A Child Labour Rescue Drive was conducted today here by District Child Protection Unit along with members of the Child Welfare Committee and staff from the Child Helpline Unit. The drive focused on various market areas in Poonch Township. Three children forced in child labour were rescued. Strict action was initiated against the involved shop owners as they were served notices by the department.
In addition to the rescue efforts, multiple shops and establishments were inspected. Shopkeepers were firmly advised against employing minors and were instructed to maintain proper documentation to ensure compliance with labour laws. The Drive was conducted under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhat, in collaboration with the Department of Labour.
