JAMMU: Former Deputy Mayor Jammu & BJP senior leader Baldev Singh Billawaria met Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Devansh Yadav to highlight the problems faced by the general public of Jammu. He said that a lot of things came to light during the meeting with the Municipal Corporation Commissioner. He urged the Commissioner to take immediate action to provide relief to the citizens.
During the meeting, various issues, demands and problems being faced by the residents of Jammu were discussed in detail, highlighting the ongoing development work, cleaning of lanes and drains, proper functioning of street lights and other related work of Jammu.
He demanded immediate action to redress these grievances so as to ensure effective delivery of basic amenities to the people. Billawaria said that the EESL company has failed to provide proper functioning of street lights to the people of Jammu city. Billawaria, further said that several delegations of market associations have lodged complaints with him regarding the non-functioning of street lights and the ongoing project of beautification of Jammu Bazar under Smart City.
He urged the Corporation Commissioner to repair the street lights installed in all the markets and mohallas on priority basis on Diwali festival. He said that though the term of the corporators who represent Jammu Municipal Corporation has ended, the corporators are still solving the problems of the people by coordinating with the officers of the corporation. Billawaria said that the work being done by JMC Commissioner Rahul Yadav and his team regarding cleanliness in Jammu city is commendable and praiseworthy.
He emphasized that cleanliness is the responsibility of every citizen and urged the people to use dustbins to dispose of their garbage and keep the environment around them clean. He said that under no circumstances should garbage be thrown in the deep drains of your area and cooperate with the corporation in keeping the drains clean. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Devansh Yadav listened to the various demands raised by former Deputy Mayor Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria and assured that the development work which was stopped due to imposition of Model Court Conduct will be speeded up and all the issues will be resolved in a phased manner. He assured that the Municipal Corporation will give priority to these issues and work towards finding solutions.
