RAMBAN: Neeraj Kumar Prajapati, widely known as the ' Bicycle Man of India' today reached Ramban district after covering Kathua, Bhaderwah, Doda and Kishtwar to promote Horticulture Development Schemes under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) among the farmers to enhance their income.
Prajapati alongwith the Chief Horticulture Officer Anil Gorka, HDO Sunil Gupta, Assistant Grading & Marketing Officer Raju Zutshi visited orchards of some prominent farmers in Batote and Sanasar, besides a newly opened Rural Business Service Hub at Batote - all sponsored by the HADP to motivate the farmers to adopt horticulture to enhance income and get all other facilities.
During his mission, Prajapati has been promoting the Horticulture Project - Ultra High Density Apple and Rejuvenation of old and senile orchards, Project-9, P- 15, P-21, besides Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH).
Under the aegis of Principal Secretary APD Shailendera Kumar, Mission Director HADP Rahul Yadav, he had started from Jammu on December 11 and has been on this mission to cover on bicycle about 1100 km across Jammu province till December 23. He will conclude his Yatra on National Farmers Day in the Directorate of Horticulture. Rural Business Service Hub will be a one stop centre where the farmers shall get seeds, feed, fertilizers, machines, packaging material etc.
