- Empower youth to lead, innovate and create employment opportunities: Dr. Basharat
PULWAMA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom chaired a review meeting on Tuesday to assess the final preparations for the launch of Mission YUVA, a program aimed at empowering youth, fostering entrepreneurship and creating job opportunities across the district. The DC described Mission YUVA as a transformative initiative designed to channelize the immense potential of young individuals, enabling them to become job providers rather than mere job seekers. He highlighted the importance of nurturing first-generation entrepreneurs, empowering women and supporting low-income groups as part of the program's commitment to inclusive and equitable growth.
Dr. Basharat emphasized the pivotal role of supervisors in ensuring the effective implementation of the program. As part of Phase 1, a district-wide survey will commence on January 1, where enumerators will conduct door-to-door surveys across every Panchayat and Ward in urban areas assigned to them. This survey is critical for gathering data on existing enterprises and identifying potential entrepreneurs.
The DC directed officers to work diligently and collaboratively to guarantee the program's success, highlighting the importance of this initiative in fostering entrepreneurship and economic growth in the district. The meeting reiterated the program's dual focus on supporting new enterprises and strengthening existing businesses, creating a robust ecosystem for job generation and economic progress.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, DSEO Pulwama, AD Employment, along with other district and sectoral officers, who expressed their commitment to making Mission YUVA a resounding success in the district.
