KUPWARA: On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, the CEO Kupwara, Abdul Majeed today visited High School Shatigam and distributed stationery kits among the students of Yangerhar, Shatigam whose houses were gutted in a massive fire incident on the intervening night of July 13 and 14.
Books, School Bags, shoes, and other stationery items were distributed among the students whose books and other stationery items were burnt in the devastating fire incident. The CEO expressed his sympathy with the students and their parents whose houses were gutted and highlighted the role of society in such tragedies.
Meanwhile District Administration has already provided immediate interim relief out of the District Red cross fund and supplied Ration, blankets, kitchen sets, mattresses etc to the fire-affected families whose houses were gutted in a massive fire incident. Administration has already sanctioned ex-gratia relief of Rs.1.20 lakh to each affected family under SDRF within 48 hours of the incident.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara Aziz Ahmed Rather along with other officers has paid several visits to the fire affected families to oversee their rehabilitation plans under different schemes.
Meanwhile, the District Administration has appealed to the General public to follow all precautionary measures while handling, electric/electronic gadgets, LPG cylinders, firewood and other appliances being used for cooking purposes to avoid such fire incidents.
