JAMMU: Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu) hosted Dr. Sharad Kumar Saraf, Chairman BoG, IIT Jammu, Shri Ashok Saraf, Chairman and Managing Director at Sarex Overseas (Division of Sarex Organics Pvt. Ltd.) and Shri Ramesh Tainwala, Former Chief Executive Officer, Samsonite International SA, on 12th July 2024 at Jagti Campus. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests on their arrival and they provided them with an extensive tour of the campus, including the state-of-the-art Nalanda Library and various classrooms. Present on the occasion was Cmdr. Kesavan Baskkaran, Chief Administrative Officer, IIM Jammu.
During his visit, Dr. Sharad Kumar Saraf, Chairman BoG, IIT Jammu, expressed that the Nalanda Library at IIM Jammu is the first of its kind, unique in every sense, and exceptionally well-managed. He noted that, having seen some of the finest libraries across the globe, this one surpasses them all. He emphasized that the library is particularly the heart of the Institute, where students rely on a wide variety of topics for their education. Dr. Saraf extended his compliments to Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, and his team for creating such an innovative concept.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, mentioned that IIM Jammu is happy to host Dr. Sharad Kumar Saraf, Shri Ashok Saraf, and Shri Ramesh Tainwala at the campus. Their visit reinforces the ongoing collaboration with IIT Jammu aimed at enhancing educational excellence and research initiatives. He mentioned that he looks forward to creating synergies that will benefit both the students and faculty of both institutes. He also emphasized the significant role that both IIM Jammu and IIT Jammu will play in the socio-economic development of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, contributing to the community through various outreach programs and initiatives.
The visit concluded with a discussion on potential areas of further collaboration, and innovative initiatives to advance education and research.
