On August 3rd and 5th, renowned lactation expert Dr. Pooja Singhania, PhD, RD, and CDE, will conduct workshops titled "Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All." These sessions will take place at the FVEG campus in Malad West and Kalyan, focusing on the essential support systems needed to promote breastfeeding. Dr. Singhania will address the challenges faced by mothers and emphasize the critical role of community and healthcare support in facilitating successful breastfeeding experiences.
Nationwide Reel-Making Competition
In an innovative approach to engage the public, LSI and Nourish 1000 Days are hosting a nationwide reel-making competition. Nutrition students and professionals across India are invited to create engaging reels that highlight the negative impacts of formula milk. This initiative encourages participants to showcase their creativity while educating families about the numerous benefits of breastfeeding. The competition aims to empower individuals to make informed feeding choices for their infants.
Community Outreach Event at KDMC Maternity Hospital
Students from the TYBSc and SYMSc programs at LSI will host a community outreach event at KDMC Maternity Hospital in Kalyan West. This event is designed to support and educate pregnant and lactating women in the community.

Educational Talk: Experts from Nourish 1000 Days will deliver an informative session covering the fundamentals of breastfeeding, including health benefits and proper breastfeeding positions.
Role Play: LSI students will perform role plays depicting common challenges faced by lactating mothers, providing practical solutions and addressing prevalent myths about breastfeeding.
Focus on Galactagogues: Attendees will learn about foods that promote milk production and how to incorporate them into their daily diets.
Handouts and Millets Distribution: Informative handouts will be distributed, along with donations of millets to enhance the nutritional intake of pregnant and lactating women.
