GANDERBAL: In connection with the Wildlife Week-2024, Department of Zoology, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organized several events to spread awareness regarding conservation of Wildlife. The Department conducted a series of programmes including- painting competition, Invited talk and Walkathon. Dr. Mohammad Lateef, Sr. Assistant Prof. conducted the proceedings of these programmes.
Prof. Mohammad Yousuf, Head, Deptt of Zoology, gave his opening remarks regarding the programme. Students from different semesters of the Department participated in the painting cum poster competition. Later on, a talk on ‘Human-Wildlife Conflict and its mitigation measures’ was delivered by Dr. Aliya Mir, Project Head, Wildlife SOS, J&K. She acquainted the faculty, students and scholars about the rising cases of man-animal conflict.
The faculty members actively participated in the event. After the lecture, faculty members, scholars and students participated in the Walkathon from Nunar Science campus to Forest area of Nunar, Ganderbal. Dr. Hameem proposed a vote of thanks.
